When you go to Windows 95/98/ME/2000 Professional/XP/Vista. Farm Sense will not install correctly and must be run from the DOS prompt or may not run at all..

Farm Biz installs automatically for Windows 95 and later systems. A Pentium II with 70 Meg of free disk space is required.

Farm Biz uses different menu selection techniques than Farm Sense. Menu selections can be chosen in one of four different ways. Click on your choice, select the option by pressing the first letter of the word, or the number in front of the option, or by moving the cursor bar.

On Screen Item Codes

On screen Item/Categories, Vendors and Enterprises display when inputting monthly transactions. When the mouse is positioned on the Item/Category, Vendors, or Enterprise input field your Favorites pop up so you can make your selection. This is from the personalized items that you customize for your farm. Just 'Click" on your choice and watch your selection be put in for you.

You'll discover that Farm Biz is a 1st class Windows program that utilizes extensive "click in the list to save keying' but still offers keyboard shortcuts for our DOS customers. When you type two or three characters of the vendor name Farm Biz picks the most likely choice for you. Just press the enter key to confirm your selection.

Instant On Screen Checkbook Balance

When you begin monthly input your current checkbook balance displays at the top of the screen. As you enter each new transaction the checkbook balance changes instantly on the screen.

Item and enterprise codes show on screen as favorites. . . No more running the editor when you save your data. Now you won't need to search for those pesky little error flags at the end of each month.

Unlimited Transactions per Month

Farm Sense required a separate screen for each transaction, and it was tedious to split a check when you purchased several items. Never again . . . Farm Biz gives you unlimited transactions per check and unlimited transactions per month.

The last date used is put in for you then just tap the plus or minus key to spin the date up or down. The check number adds 1 to the previous check number and it's put in for you. To finish your entry key a description or click an Item/Category then key the money. There is a "Fast Entry" option that moves the cursor to the next line so you don't even stop to enter the Enterprise, Quantity and Head unless you want.

Vendors/Payees

We expanded the vendors to include all the people you do business with. Vendors can be: the bank or loan company, charge cards, casual labor or employees, the feed mill, co-op, implement dealer, electric company or the elevator where you sell your crops. Now all the transactions for each vendor are printed and totaled. What a way to track the business you do each year with every vendor.

Best of all . . . you don't even have to memorize the vendor code. Vendor codes and names display as your favorites while you're keying monthly transactions just like item and enterprise codes.

Check Writing

Check Writing by computer is an option on every Expense Transaction. "Click Print Check" to print the check. Farm Biz lets you handwrite checks and/or Print computer generated Checks. A unique feature to Farm Biz is the ability to customize how your checks and stub print.

Bank Statement Reconciliation

Balancing your checkbook will never be easier with on-screen bank statement reconciliation. Each month you click on the checks you keyed that cleared and presto, the new running bank balance is computed for you. A sure time saver.

Converting Farm Sense Data Automatically

If you want to convert prior years of Farm Sense to Farm Biz for Windows you must send your Data Disks to SDS. The charge to covert them is $25 plus $5 per disk. Upon return they will be loadable by Farm Biz for Windows.
